‘Glue ears’ refers to a buildup of fluid behind the ear drum. The buildup causes pressure in the ear, a blocked sensation, pain as well as hearing loss. It is a condition which mostly affects children and can easily be treated by a procedure known as grommets insertion.
In adults, however, glue ears may indicate serious problems affecting the post nasal area such as tumours. Therefore, if an adult thinks they might be experiencing ‘glue ears’, they need to see a specialist, like Mr Ali, immediately so that the condition can be investigated and treated as soon as possible. During a consultation with Mr Ali, he will perform an endoscopic examination of the post nasal space to accurately identify any issues.
