Rhinoplasty or a “nose job” is a surgical procedure in which the nose is reshaped and is normally performed for two reasons.
Cosmetically, a nose procedure can alter the nose so that is more in line with the rest of your face. In addition, a rhinoplasty can remove a blockage in the nasal airway to improve circulation and breathing. Otoplasty, or “ear pinning”, involves the surgical reshaping of the outer ear (or pinna) in order to correct protruding ears.
Otoplasty can be done at any age and helps people to regain confidence in their appearance. If you are self-conscious about the size or shape of your ears, contact us at ENT Consultant Manchester – and book a consultation with Mr Ali.
Otoplasty usually takes about an hour, with adults receiving a local anaesthetic and children undergoing general anaesthesia. A small incision is made at the back of the ear to access the cartilage, which will then be closed with dissolvable sutures.
You will be able to return home on the same day as your otoplasty procedure. A bandage must be worn for a few days followed by a headband after the bandage is removed. You can return to work after a week, although contact sports must be avoided for a few months. Rest assured, Dr Ali will provide full support throughout the recovery period, advising you on when you can return to particular forms of exercise.

Dermal fillers are a cosmetic treatment that reduce the effects of ageing by improving your facial features. Dermal fillers work by adding better definition to your face, particularly your cheekbones and/or lips. Dermal fillers are made from hyaluornic acid which is a naturally occurring substance that stores moisture.
Dermal fillers can be used to treat a number of issues including thinning skin, folds and wrinkles and work by creating more volume in areas which have lost fat. When dermal fillers are injected, they will attract water molecules and hydrate the tissue of the skin. This gives the skin a plumper, more smoother look, and can last anywhere from 6 to 12 months.

Botox is a neurotoxic protein that prevents the release of a substance called Acetylcholine, and this in turn results in muscle paralysis. This stops the appearance of wrinkles and you will see results in just 2 to 3 days. Full effects will begin to show in 2 weeks and will ensure your face looks smoother and fresher. Effects can last anywhere between 6 to 9 months.
